This will be the 1924 silent classic “The Thief of Bagdad”, starring Douglas Fairbanks, with an introduction by Roy Mudge.When the Thief of Baghdad (Douglas Fairbanks) sneaks into a royal palace, he discovers and instantly falls in love with a beautiful princess (Julanne Johnston). Curated by our very own Roy Mudge, in partnership with the City of Melville Wireless Hill Museum. The exhibition salutes four cinemas of Perth in the 1920s-30s and runs till November 2019. In the last two months of 2017 the Sunset AMMPT working Bee team was approached by film and TV camera Students from Perth Central TAFE to make a short film about our operation. Western Australian Film Preservation

Western Australian Film Preservation The Australian Museum of Motion Picture and Television Film Library has donated 24 Titles on 29 reels of 16mm film from its collection to the State Library of Western Australia. Almost all of these titles were endangered and needed to be digitised or they could have been lost forever. The State library’s funding drive has led to further digitisation of important Western Australian historical and cultural films which have been now given a new lease of life.
